While the modem is working...

A few more suggestions.

Remember what a gaining stream is versus a losing stream.

For surface and ground water issues - remember what Capacity vs. Competency is about, what a Recharge Zone is and what a Drainage Basin (or Watershed) is.

Other stuff - Disconformity - horizontal layers, separated by an erosion surface - Redwall Limestone over Muav Limestone in Grand Canyon. Nonconformity - sedimentary rocks over igneous/metamorphics - Chattahoochee gravels over saprolite or Tapeats Sandstone over metamorphics in Grand Canyon. Angular Unconformity - Cambrian Tonto Group over tilted Grand Canyon Supergroup.

Youngest igneous rocks in Ga. are the diabase dikes on the Piedmont.

Soils to remember - Pedalfers - this area; Laterites - tropical rain forests; Pedocals - El Paso area.

Remember shield volcanoes - usually hot spots or rift zones. Composite volcanoes - usually inland from subduction zones.
